The Beit Chabad Centres and its activities have become a warm and friendly meeting place for many of the local Jewish people. Backpackers, travellers, university students all join in the activities and find the centres and activities a place to meet up with others. People who are non Jewish also come by to learn about the 7 Noachide laws or just to see and learn about Jews and Judaism.

In 2003/5764 a number of people requested of Rabbi Mosheh and Bluma Serebryanski to explore the possibility of setting up a centre for Jewish people both on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers. In a short time it became evident the need for a place that Jewish people could come together in a friendly non-judgmental environment to meet other people of similar interests and explore social/cultural/religious Judaism with no strings attached.

The funding thereof was provided by a small number of individuals, as time progressed, more people became involved, activities expanded, expenses and beneficiaries grew. Within a relatively short period of a year or so, hundreds of people began viewing the activities and subsequent centres as their place to feel at home. People come for social, cultural and religious reasons.
